STUDY
While not having any formal connection with it, we would like to direct your attention for further study to the Center for Catholic Social Thought based out of the Church of the Assumption in St. Paul, MN. Some of our members are involved there and most of our efforts are in that direction for the moment.

Back to Christ, Back to the Land!
Inspired by Peter Maurin and Wendell Berry, and beginning in the Spring of 2027, we will begin semi-regular workdays, community dinners, and cele-brations at a 47-acre property in East Bethel, MN (about 30 minutes North of Columbia Heights). Over time, we hope to build an "Agronomic Uni-versity"--the name Peter Maurin gave the third part of his Catholic Worker program (houses of hospitality, and roundtable discussions for clarification of thought being the other two). A house with a dedicated chapel and Christ Room is being built on the property. We will then begin the sustainable and regenerative work of locally producing our own food to support the community, the hospitality house in Columbia Heights, and other families/parishes in the Twin Cities. Such work will give us all a chance to reconnect with the land, find labor that truly dignifies, and build bonds of close friendship around shared projects. As Peter Maurin envisioned, we'll work to build a small alternative economy flowing out of, and back to, the Lord's Table. Cult <> Culture <> Cultivation.
